Just Got Back to Phuket City From Phi Phi Island

Just arrived in Phuket City this afternoon. I was on Phi Phi looking for personal affects and a video recording of my girlfriend. And I was successful. It brought tears to my eyes when i discovered the tape existed. I now have a video of our last day togeather.

Also, I will be meeting with two different aid groups tomorrow. One is involved in building boats and the other is setting up scholarships for students who have been affected by the Tsunami. I'll be writing more tomorrow as I didn't sleep much on Phi Phi and I'm feeling exhausted........yawn.

This playground was constructed with donated funds at the Phi Phi Camp just outside of Krabi City.

This is a typical room in the Phi Phi Displaced Persons Camp. It's small, roughly 200 square feet. On the side you can see what is left from their shop after the Tsunami.

Donated Money Being Put to Good Use

This truck was bought with funds donated to the PhiPhi-Releve-Toi Association. The residence of the camp use it to commute to Krabi City Centre which is about 25 minutes away by car.

Here is one of the camps set up outside of Krabi city. Currently about 60 rooms. 2 to 3 families are living in each room. There is a great demand for more of these temporary facilities.
